Course Overview

This course is suitable for those who have some experience working in disability or aged care sector. If you want to take the next step in your career in the disability sector, this course will build on what you already know and prepare you to work in roles where you lead others and assist clients in managing their services. You will empower people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. How Does Subsidised Funding Work?

If your training is subsidised, the South Australian Government pays part of your course fees for you. The money goes straight to your training provider, so you can focus on your training. You will be required to pay only the co-contribution.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible for subsidised training if you live or work in South Australia, and you are:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • a permanent Australian resident, or
  • an eligible visa holder

Am I eligible if I am employed?

Yes, employment status does not impact your eligibility to access government subsidised training.

Do I need to hold a concession card to be eligible for government funding?

No, you do not need to hold a concession card.

Why do I need to complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment when I enrol for a subsidised course?

Every learner studying in a nationally recognised training organisation must meet the criteria which includes completing the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment as part of the requirements to access Government subsidised funding for each course they enrol in. Subsidised funding cannot be accessed without the completion of the LLN test.
