Identity Document Verification Service
Auctus Consulting Pty Ltd ( Auctus Training Institute) collect and uses personal information to verify a student’s identity for application, enrolment, compliance, funding, regulatory, reporting, and student administration purposes.
Where identity verification is required, Auctus may use the Document Verification Service, also known as DVS, through One Click Services. The DVS is used to check whether identity details provided by a student match record held by the relevant official document issuer or government record holder.
The types of information used for identity verification may include:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Document type
- Driver licence details
- Passport details
- Medicare details
- State or issuing authority
- Other information required to complete the identity verification transaction
Auctus will only use identity information for identity verification and related application, enrolment, compliance, funding, regulatory, reporting, and student administration purposes.
To complete a DVS check, Auctus may disclose the required identity details to One Click Services and the relevant official record holder or document issuer. Auctus will only disclose the information required to complete the verification transaction.
Student consent for DVS identity verification is collected through the ReadyTeach enrolment application form (ReadyTech is an Australian software company that provides cloud-based student management, learning management, and skills assessment systems for the education and training sector) before a DVS transaction is initiated. The DVS application used by Auctus is an internal staff tool only and is not accessed directly by students. Authorised staff must also confirm that consent has been obtained before submitting a DVS transaction.
If a student does not consent to DVS verification, Auctus may be unable to complete identity verification through the DVS. This may delay the student’s application or enrolment. Where available, Auctus may provide an alternative manual verification process, such as asking the student to attend an Auctus site in person with their identity documents.
Auctus does not retain full document credential details after the DVS transaction is completed, unless otherwise required under an approved legal, regulatory, or compliance process. Full document numbers such as licence numbers, card numbers, Medicare numbers, IRNs, or passport numbers are not stored in the DVS audit log.
Auctus may retain an audit record of the DVS transaction, including:
- staff user who initiated the check
- timestamp
- internal reference or application ID
- consent confirmation
- document type
- DVS result
- VRN/OAC reference where provided
- error response or manual review outcome, where applicable
Students may request access to, or correction of, personal information held by Auctus. Students may also make a privacy complaint if they are concerned about how their personal information has been collected, used, disclosed, stored, or handled.
Privacy enquiries, access or correction requests, and complaints can be made using the contact details listed in this Privacy Policy.
