TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 is the latest nationally recognised accredited qualification for workplace trainers and vocational trainers or assessors.
 

TAE40116 vs TAE40110

 The new TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has had some changes made to it to improve the profile of the qualification in the industry.

As this is a critical qualification to providing training and assessment to various industries the expectations around integrity of delivery and risk it presents have been raised.

Some of the key changes are Language literacy and numeracy becoming a core component of the qualification:

• The development of assessment tools;
• Delivery of training in front of a minimum group of learners for group training, and minimum requirements for sufficiency of competency demonstration in some of the units;
• Focus on context in assessment planning;
• More detailed validation review of assessments.

New Cert IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 Course - Core Units added to the new qualification

Two new core units were added to the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116:

• TAEASS502 – Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
• TAELLN411 – Addressing Adult Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Skills.

TAEASS502 - It is a Diploma level unit aimed at developing skills and knowledge required to design and develop assessment tools used to guide the collection of quality evidence, including their application in formative, summative recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment.

TAELLN411 – The unit is designed to develop skills and knowledge required of a vocational trainer or assessor to identify language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skill requirements of training and the work environment, and to use resources and strategies that meet the needs of the learner group. 

TAE40110 upgrade to TAE40116

To update your TAE40110 to TAE40116, you will need:

• TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment parchment;
• If you haven't completed the new core units TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 as part of your TAE40110, you'll need to successfully complete a 3 day course (one day TAELLN411 and two days TAEASS502);
• Some doing gap training might also be required.
