Updating Trainer Credentials – Statement of Attainment - Option 1

The update to trainer and assessor credential requirements that came into effect requires trainers to have in addition to their TAE40110.

TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills, AND

TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools

Upgrade to TAE40116 - Option 2

At this stage it is not a requirement for trainers and assessors who hold the TAE40110 to upgrade their qualification to TAE40116 (by completing these new units). However, the Australian Industry and Skills Committee has recommended to the COAG Industry and Skills Council that this requirement be considered for the future.

To upgrade to TAE40116, you will need to provide the following:

• Verified current transcript of your TAE40110 qualification
• Certificate of attainment for TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tool
• Evidence to cover gaps in the units TAEASS401B and TAEASS403B as they haven't been considered equivalent to the new core units TAEASS401 and TAEASS403 

TAELLN411 & TAEASS502 - Face to face workshop format

These can be completed as a series of face to face workshops to help you gain the confidence to complete and submit your evidence. The workshops are ideally held one day per fortnight (one day TAELLN411 and three days TAEASS502).

The four days of training will be held one day approximately per fortnight (if both units are required). 

• The course would go over a 6 week period allowing work to be completed in between each session and any coaching needed with the trainer.
• Some work will be completed in the workshops and further work will need to be done outside during the break between sessions.
• Flexible work based tasks to be completed in between each classroom session.
• The students can access support outside of classroom by their trainer should they need it via phone and email.
• All resources for the training will be provided to support activities to be completed as part of the qualification.
